Step 2: Raise awareness Use social media to raise awareness of a wrong. An Egyptian citizen's anonymous Facebook group about the torture killing of a local man by police helped topple the 30-year presidency of Egypt's President Hosni Mubarak. Step 3: Tweet Use hashtags -- words or phrases prefixed with the "hash" or "pound" symbol -- on Twitter to help spread, share, and organize information about a certain topic. At least 200000 Egyptians have signed up on Facebook to back Mohamed ElBaradei, the former UN nuclear boss, who has said he wants to shatter 30 years of political stasis in Egypt by running for president. Despite a surge in online support for political alternatives to President Hosni Mubarak, 82, who has been in power since 1981, even ardent supporters acknowledge that online activism in Egypt cannot deliver change without action on the streets. 'Crucial step' Yusuf AbdelRahman, representing ElBaradei's Facebook group, said the petition had 54870 online signatures so far but added that 15000 Facebook members have volunteered to go on the streets of Cairo and other cities to collect more signatures. "[This] is a crucial step considering that three decades of state repression has left many afraid of taking action. Others accept repressive measures as a fact of life," he said. The speed supporters signed up to Facebook after ElBaradei returned to Egyptin February, adding tens of thousands in a few days, reflects pent-up frustration before parliament and presidential elections this year and next, analysts say. ROSA KOIRE: Author and Activist, "Behind the Green Mask"

This video was recorded at Rosa Koire's conference on Agenda 21, "Behind the Green Mask", August 6, 2011 in Santa Rosa, California. Agenda 21 is the Master Plan put forth by the United Nations in 1992 and adopted by President Bill Clinton. Agenda 21 is a green initiative which targets cars and people living away from cities who must commute. Their goal is to develop large, congested city centers for people to reside, and provide mass transit for the city dwellers to commute to work. It also targets large parcels of land in the world, including the United States, to be redistricted to "open space land", thereby making it undevelopable. Agenda 21 is now being adopted in California, specifically in the San Francisco Bay Area, under the name "Plan Bay Area". Plan Bay Area's goal is to develop large congested downtown metro areas, with shops, stores, theaters, and mass high rise housing. They aim to get people out of their private suburban residences and cars, and warehouse them in these large metro areas. YAF activist Aaron Marcus (Rutgers Univerity)--who has been featured on Fox News, GBTV, Wall Street Journal, and the Huffington Post--sat down with YAF to give his perspective on the rapant anti-Semitic threats against him at Rutgers. Today, the Huffington Post reported on the ungoing investigation by the Department of Education: The US Department of Education's Office of Civil Rights is investigating Rutgers University for its response to alleged anti-Semitic harassment, according to documents obtained by The Huffington Post. The Zionist Organization of America, a right-leaning Jewish advocacy group, presented the government with claims that Jewish students at Rutgers have been the object of anti-Semitic intimidation on Facebook by an employee of the university -- and that the university did not respond properly. "OCR has one open complaint involving Rutgers University," Daren Briscoe, a US Education Department spokesperson, confirmed in an email. "The complaint alleges that the University failed to respond appropriately to a complaint alleging that students were subjected to harassment and different treatment because of their national origin (Jewish ancestry/ethnicity). The OCR complaint is currently under investigation."
