Exclusief voor onze lezers werd in avant-première, 1 dag vroeger dan de officiële lanceringsdatum, de nieuwe BMW 1 reeks voorgesteld! Dhr. Beliën mocht met trots zijn vernieuwde showroom voorstellen en de onthulling van de nieuwe BMW 1 reeks aankondigen. Dhr. Jos Vaes van DeaPlus en Dhr. John Van Eckeren van Circle videotheken en Galerie-houder Eastmen, gaven een interessante speech over hun cover-interviews. Vervolgens mocht Geert Brouwers van Big Media Group het nieuwe product Za-zoe.be voorstellen. Jan Vermeerbergen van Tisser kleding uit Mol kreeg als afsluiter de eer om een gepersonaliseerd Scabal maatpak te verloten onder de aanwezigen. Hierna werden de BMW modellen uitvoerig bekeken en getest door de aanwezige bedrijfsleiders. En natuurlijk werd er weer volop genetwerkt. Bij het naar huis gaan kreeg iedereen de Manager-giftbag met daarin de nieuwe magazines, en ook meer info en cadeaus van enkele partners.

Rating: Adult occupant: 5 Child occupant: 3 Pedestrian: 1 The 1-Series has a very strong and stable passenger safety cage. It achieved the five star rating after Euro NCAP allowed a frontal retest following improvements to the airbags. The driver dummy's chest instrumentation recorded high loads in the frontal impact although side impact protection was better. Protection for both children was only fair, however. Finally, like the BMW 5-Series also tested for this round, pedestrian protection was dire. Front impact The body proved to be very strong, showing only minor distortion of the passenger cell. The driver's door could be opened almost normally after the crash. Footwell intrusion was minimal and control of the foot pedals was also good. The restraint system includes dual stage tethered airbags for the driver and passenger, belt pretensioners combined with load limiters. A good deal of design effort was applied in the driver knee impact area with substantial padding evident in the steering column zone. The passenger knee impact area was also considered to be relatively benign. Foam padding located beneath the carpet helped to protect their feet. Side impact An impressive system includes seat mounted side airbags and a head airbag curtain. The structure and systems gave good protection in the side and pole tests. A new BMW. -Info- Judging by the white paint with the black racing stripes over the top length of the car, these leaked images are likely to be the 2012 1-Series M-Sport Package spied earlier this month. But, according to 1addicts, BMW is calling this the "BMW Performance Studie 1-Series", performance study, which is to say it is like a concept for a performance variant that is still not ready to make it to the dealer showrooms just yet. The car was, in fact, at a dealer presentation when these photos were snapped and leaked. The model is sporting new front and rear bumpers that are different from the simpler M-Package 1-Series BMW unveiled just after the new generation 1er was introduced, but similar to those of the aforementioned spy photos. BMW is likely prepping this car for a debut at the Frankfurt motor show which is promising to be bigger than ever this year.
