This nuclear reactors are all factories... for deadliest weapons on Earth!!!
Published on May 15, 2013 by PressTV This fall, for the first time ever, a nuclear plant in the United States could operate without a license and there's little that anyone can do about it.
The Indian Point Power Plant located just 38 miles north of New York City was commissioned in the mid-seventies. One of two reactors at the nuclear plant will soon be operating with an expired license because of a complicated procedure for license renewals.

While the central government in Tokyo complains about not being able to cleanup Tsunami debris, local government still refuse to accept any burning or storage of debris in their area. J-gov refuses to accept alternative plans.

TOKYO —
The Environment Ministry said Tuesday that the disposal of tsunami debris from Miyagi and Iwate prefectures is on schedule to be completed by the end of March 2014, but is not proceeding on schedule in Fukushima Prefecture.
Of the estimated total 15.82 million tons of debris in all three prefectures, about 58% or 9.24 million tons had been disposed of, Fuji TV reported. According to the ministry, as of Tuesday, 17 prefectures were helping with disposal by agreeing to accept 670,000 tons of tsunami debris from Miyagi and Iwate prefectures.
However, work to dispose of debris from Fukushima has been hampered by the nuclear accident at the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant. The government has been unable to find prefectures willing to help store and dispose of radioactive soil and other waste, nor has it proceeded with plans to build interim storage facilities in Fukushima.

Investigators from the Nuclear Regulatory Commission are still unable to explain why a crane accident at the Arkansas Nuclear One nuclear power plant which killed one twenty-four year old employee and injured eight others happened. On Thursday night a meeting was held at the nuclear power plant in Russellville, Arkansas to discuss the findings where about 90 people showed up.
Workers were attempting to move a generator stator, which weighs some 525 tons, when the crane failed and dropped the stator. An investigation by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration is
still underway.

Congressman Fred Upton is demanding accountability and a permanent fix to the leaking tank at the Palisades Nuclear Power Plant on Lake Michigan, and says that he is "outraged" by the announced leak that escaped into the Great Lake over the weekend. "This situation is not acceptable and demands full accountability," Upton said in a Tuesday news release.
Upton, who chairs the House's Energy and Commerce Committee, which has jurisdiction over domestic nuclear regulatory activities, further commented on the situation adding, "It is my understanding that the water tank will be emptied by the end of the week with the hope that the cause of the leak can be identified shortly thereafter. Every option must be on the table -- including a full replacement of the tank -- to ensure that the continuing leak will not occur again." Upton has announced plans to visit the plant with a board member from the Nuclear Regulatory Commission in the near future.
The NRC is investigating why the leak rake suddenly increased from 5 gallons per day to over 90 gallons per day in the course of one 24-hour period, but the leaking tank cannot be fully inspected until all of the remaining water is drained.

The Palisades nuclear power plant shut down on Sunday morning, just after 1 am, due to a leak from the Safety Injection Refueling Water Tank. Last year, the plant was shut down due to leaks from the SIRW tank, after the leaking water was found to be seeping into the control room, but was allowed to restart by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission until the leak reached some 34 gallons per day. According to plant operators, the leakage had increased for "unknown reasons" to an estimated 90 gallons per day.

ThroThroughout the generations people have been living with hand me down deceptions. We have accumulated information and belief systems based solely on the systems governing our childhoods. Our parents as well only knew what they were taught and told was real. It has now come to a point where through utilization of our deeper enlightenment and ability to recognize that we are of a much higher power than we have been taught, WE CAN ALTER THE WORLD AROUND US into a more sustainable place for all living things. HOWEVER, ... Before we can make change, we must recognize the wrongs and where the change must be made. In order to do this, ... WE MUST LET GO OF THE FALSE ILLUSIONS THAT WE HAVE BEEN FED THROUGHOUT OUR LIVES.

After investigating the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant last week, Juan Carlos Lentijo, the head of the investigating team, admitted that the work to decommission and stabilize the reactors the plant is so complex that it is "impossible" for experts to predict how long the project may last.
"As for the duration of the decommissioning project, this is something that you can define in your plans. But in my view, it will be nearly impossible to ensure the time for decommissioning such a complex facility in less than 30-40 years as it is currently established in the roadmap," Lentijo said.

Former Chairman of the Nuclear Regulatory Commission, Gregory Jaczko, has been appointed to an little-known panel with the National Nuclear Security Administration this week. The Congressional Advisory Panel was created by the 2013 National Defense Authorization Act, will include 12 congressionally appointed members, and will work to make recommendations to improve operations culminating in a report due in February of 2014.
The embattled former Chairman recently made headlines around the world when he was quoted as saying that all of the operating nuclear power plants in the United States should be shut down due to serious design flaws.

About the major leakage of highly contaminated water, Tepco published the assessment of the environmental influence. The leaking reservoirs are 880 m from the sea. About Sr-90 and Tritium, Tepco estimated it takes 10 ~ 100 years for the nuclides to penetrate underground to reach sea. Because they don't even know the ground water level, [...]

University of Mobile's Cross Country Coach, who was near the finish line of the Boston Marathon when a series of explosions went off, said he thought it was odd there were bomb sniffing dogs at the start and finish lines.
"They kept making announcements to the participants do not worry, it's just a training exercise," Coach Ali Stevenson told Local 15.
Stevenson said he saw law enforcement spotters on the roofs at the start of the race. He's been in plenty of marathons in Chicago, D.C., Chicago, London and other major metropolitan areas but has never seen that level of security before.
"Evidently, I don't believe they were just having a training exercise," Stevenson said. "I think they must have had some sort of threat or suspicion called in."
CNN reports a state government official said there were no credible threats before the race.

Explosions Reported at Boston Marathon Finish

BOSTON (AP) — Two explosions at the finish line of the Boston Marathon have resulted in injuries.
Bloody spectators were being carried Monday to the medical tent that had been set up to care for fatigued runners. Police wove through competitors as they ran back toward the course.
"There are a lot of people down," said one man, whose bib No. 17528 identified him as Frank Deruyter of North Carolina. He was not injured, but marathon workers were carrying one woman, who did not appear to be a runner, to the medical area as blood gushed from her leg. A Boston police officer was wheeled from the course with a leg injury that was bleeding.

TEPCO: Radioactive water may seeped into ground
http://www3.nhk.or.jp/nhkworld/english/news/20130406_04.html
Tokyo Electric Power Company says a small amount of radioactive water may have seeped out of an underground water storage facility at the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant. The water contained strontium.
The utility spokesperson says that on Friday engineers detected a radioactive substance in the water between the layers of waterproof sheets covering the storage facility. The level of radioactivity is considered by the utility to be low.
The spokesperson says TEPCO officials will investigate what caused the problem. They also plan to transfer the water to another storage facility nearby.
The nuclear accident at the Fukushima Daiichi was caused by the tsunami disaster two years ago.
Since then, hundreds of tons of underground water have been flowing into reactor buildings every day. TEPCO has been struggling to secure space to store the contaminated water.
The utility recently constructed 7 large-scale underground facilities for storing the water after removing some radioactive substances. Each facility can accommodate up to 14,000 tons of water.
TEPCO has recently reported a series of troubles at Fukushima Daiichi. The cooling system for a fuel pool failed on Friday. It resumed operation 3 hours later.
A major power failure occurred at the plant last month, resulting in a blackout that lasted 29 hours.

Nuclear Power and Earthquakes
Why is a geologist interested in nuclear plants? Listen to Fairewinds Board member geologist Dr. Les Kanat talk with nuclear engineer Arnie Gundersen and show host Kevin Hurley about seismological events in relation to nuclear power. Why do east coast nuclear plants have higher Core Damage Frequencies and are more likely to be damaged from an earthquake than those in California? Do corporate economic concerns mean that nuclear plants are not designed to handle the worst 'quake? Tune in and discover what the NRC has identified as the most dangerous plant in America.

Dr. Chris Busby makes a VERY BRILLIANT COUNTER POINT TO ALL OF THIS RHETORIC about nuclear power plant safety and nuclear storage for the Real Long Term. I've used Dr. Busby's Great 3 and a half minute common sense discussion in several videos before, but it really drives the point home WHY we should ABOLISH ALL NUCLEAR ENERGY POWER PLANTS NOW ! And why continuing to produce nuclear waste and nuclear energy is So So So destructive. (understatement emphasized).
AND, of course, as I'm writing this description box, look what comes into my inbox:

Here's a little bio on this Les Kanat dude.

personally, I had never heard of him before...
At first glance, (again - I know Nothing about this guy) It opens to what looks like people "overpopulation" page...
Here's a link I haven't posted in a while... Agenda 21, the full document. I suggest you read it. The UN Guide to "Sustainable Development"

I'm not going to bore you with links. You all are smart enough by now to do your own searching and have a full bag of tools to dig deeper.
I'm glad I could supply some tools along the way and I'm glad so many of you still use the tools and knowledge. I hope I've been able to contribute to along the way. I think you guys have all graduated with honors... :) You know the buzz words like PlumeGate, Bullshit Button, WTF cat, and all the rest. I'll sleep easier at night knowing I have done what I could to help facilitate that knowledge (if I indeed did help? :) ). I started off not knowing what a spent fuel pool was... so I'm a lot smarter now too. Not nearly smart enough... but content knowing I've done what I can to help us become more educated...
Enjoy the rest of your evening. I know I will.

There was no shorter way for grandma to tell us her story.
WARNING: Graphic pictures of actual mutations in human babies. DO NOT watch if this is disturbing to you!!!

This is a fictional story line based on the dangers of Nuclear Power, Fracking and Fossil fuels, not to mention the steady onset of wars. (fictional means not true ...yet, for those that wonder)
The year is 2032 and a great grandmother is writing her heirs, (all people of earth) that may have survived the "Black Day Disaster" Her message pertaining to the history of how the world got so bad is meant to be an awakening to those that, even after Chernobyl and the ongoing Fukushima Daiichi catastrophies, still believe that Nuclear Power is safe and clean. The story line though fictional is based on actual disasters and facts. Facts that can be followed up in the news around the world.
We can only hope, enough people join together demanding change in the way our system of government is run, that we can implement changes in order to save Mother Earth and all mankind. Saving mankind from himself, I might add. Many of us are doing what we can to aid in an awakening to truth.
TRUTH is, nuclear power, fossil fuel usage, and natural gas for fuel is not needed, energy is alive and is everywhere. The technology is blocked by GREED. The barrier is no more than money and the love of it at any expense, ...including life!

Hanford tanks are not only leaking but they could also explode. That would be spectacular, wouldn't it? (Defense in Depth, anyone? NRC commissioners?)
But the Board's comment came during the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee hearing, which will hold confirmation hearing next week for the new Energy Secretary nominee. As AP's article indicates, it's part political jockeying among Senators, although the danger is real.

Around 07:50 on Easter Sunday Morning, an accident at the Arkansas Nuclear Power Plant not only killed one worker and injured others it also left the Unit 1 reactor without offsite power. Workers were using the Unit 1 turbine temporary lift device to move the Main Turbine Generator Stator, which weighs over 500 tons, out of the turbine building when it fell. The lift crane failed, dropping the load, which resulted in a crash which was heard by local residents miles from the site, and tripped the Unit 2 reactor. There was one known fatality and 4 known serious injuries to workers. http://enformable.com/2013/04/accident-at-arkansas-nuclear-one-leaves-unit-without-offsite-power/
